Gages Lake School located in Gages Lake with a second campus, Sally Potter School, located in Mundelein, serve students with severe behavior disorders Early Childhood through junior high school age. Gages Lake School and Sally Potter School both provide a full service school program with the ultimate goal to return the student to a less restrictive educational option in the students home district. Student placement in a particular classroom is based upon the factors of age, grade level, academic functioning and social or emotional functioning with a typical age or grade range of no more than three years. Each classroom is self-contained and generally consists of 10 students with two teachers providing direct service. Gages Lake School and Sally Potter School both utilize a social skills approach to behavior management. The entire program operates on the premise that a positive approach to teaching appropriate social skills and academic classroom behaviors through a highly structured therapeutic skills curriculum will enable students to practice. appropriate social behavior in a controlled environment. The next step is to generalize their learning in a less restrictive education program in or near their home school. A comprehensive support service system which is made up of social workers, psychologists, art therapist, nursing, and psychiatric consultation is in place at Gages Lake School and Sally Potter School to assist students in meeting their goal or returning to a less restrictive option. The student

At Gages Lake School and Sally

comprehensive school sports program
that consists of football, indoor
soccer, basketball, track and chess
that enhances the emotional and
social programs that enables
students to re-enter education
programs in their home school
environments as they become ready to
engage in collaborative
relationships with home schools,
